Difficult to Distinguish

I finally uploaded the few pictures I had from our "adoption day." They aren't incredibly spiff, but some of them are quite darling. Especially Rudyard's pictures.

You know, I never realized how amazingly unique Rudyard is as a ferret. I have been told that he's very "tame" and how am I able to "get him so tame?"

Well, folks, I actually thought that's how ferrets just were. Then I found out what "high energy" really means in ferretese. Wow.

Anywho. Pictures.
Rudyard is a great model. I'm going to have to work with Jack on his picturing-skills.

Here is my baby. We just got in the car. He's still kind of waking up, although car rides make him a very sleepy weasel. Lucky Sam got to sit in the passenger seat because I drove. I admit, I was jealous.

We pit-stopped at a gas station. I wanted Rudyard to poop and we have certainly been on trips before where he pooped in the car. So we stopped at a gas station. We were probably just thirty minutes into the trip; we had just gotten out of Athens. Rudyard and I found a nice place to chill outside while Sam ran inside to get snacks.
Rudyard most indeed pooped. It was the greatest poop ever.

That little weasel is just so fucking cute! I hate that he is sick right now. It is an extremely upsetting thing.

But he's slowly getting better, which is very very good.

Okay, so skip tons of time ahead. We are back in the car. Sam snapped a picture of Jack being the fussiest butt-head of all-time.

At home, we tried out a variety of toys on Jack while Rudyard slept up a storm. He played with all of Rudyard's toys fine. He even stashed Rudyard's things. But it did feel, still does, very different than the way Rudyard plays with things. I think it is because Sam and I have a narrative running in our heads when we watch and play with Rudyard. We don't know Jack well enough yet to guess what's going on in that noggin of his.

These are camera phone images I snapped today. It's very hard to distinguish Rudyard and Jack when they are on camera, but BOY HOWDY, do they look different next to each other. For whatever reason, I thought Rudyard was a big boy. I found out that Jack is the big boy. He's twice Rudyard's size and extremely strong.

When we gave the boys a bath yesterday to help neutralize their smells, Jack was the biggest pansy I have ever seen. The water was definitely low enough for walking in. Rudyard was doing just fine, and he was just starting up his nasty little virus (not that we knew at the time).

But Jack flipped out. He tried swimming around in the water and ended up looking like a fool because he was tall enough to walk with ease. He also clutched onto my arm and hand so hard that I could lift him straight up. It was crazy! He's got some mega-muscles in that body of his.
