Men are Women, and women are... women?

I'm working on a personal project of mine.

I've been checking out all these new Disney perversions as of late, the Twisted Princesses and the hot Disney men as underwear models.

So I kinda started my own.

I was originally just making a belly dance costume for Dr. Facilier. I wanted to dance to his song, "Friends on the Other Side." So I drew him as a woman.

I started coloring him in and it just made me giggle. I decided to try out another character, Gaston.

After that, I ambitiously attempted Frollo. Well, I thought it was ambitious. Right not I'm coloring in my female version of Governor Ratcliffe with a female version of Percy.

I'll see if I can post them.

ARRRRRRRG.

WHY is there a group of grown ladies sitting at my young adult tables, having a meeting and discussing things like 'old people have brittle bones. Be careful with them' ?!?!?!?!

WHAT THE FUCK?! Get off of my tables! They are MY tables. MINE MINE MINE.
Go use the small conference room. Go outside. Go have a meeting in a place where meetings happen. DO NOT USE MY TABLES!!!

Last time, I tried to be as UNPLEASANT as possible by constantly shushing them. I might've even overdone it. They had reserved the SCR and decided to come to MY section instead.

THIS time, they do NOT have the SCR reserved, they came here, and I tried passive aggression. I put a sign at their table saying that the tables were reserved.

They do not move.
Pains in my ass.
Grown women at my young adult tables. Get off get off gerrofff!!!

Square 1

Bah!
Marco Polo started turning out to be too difficult to choreograph while keeping it simple. The song has been dropped, and Drama Queen from the Belly Dance Superstars CD was chosen as the alternate.

Now to start all over again.....

WHY MUST CHOREOGRAPHY BE SO DIFFICULT?!?!

Rudyard in Love?

Rudyard has been affectionately grooming and nipping Church as of late. He comes up to her while she is in repose, puts his nose in her ear (it's so funny, he wears her ears like a hat!), and then begins to groom her.

After a while, if she is still tolerating it, he will attempt to scruff her and drag her to his "den," which is essentially the space beneath my dresser.

What I have learned, as a ferret owner, is this:
  • When disciplining a ferret, I must scruff them and drag them to their stash-spot, their FAVORITE stash-spot, to show them who the dominant figure is and that my rules are the rules they must follow.
  • Also, a ferret will take the items they love or are fixating on for the time being to their stash-spot. Rudyard has gone to sleep many many times beneath my dresser (his den) because all of his favorite things are there (clothing of mine he has pulled under, fabrics, socks, the Pirate Duck--YES, I FOUND HIM-- and some other toys).
So, I think Rudyard is either trying to tell Church he is the boss or that he likes her very very much. He is neutered, so I can't imagine him having any sexual drive--especially since only a very select few of critters in the animal kingdom have sex for pleasure. It is for procreation only. For some species, it is a chore.

Perhaps he regards her as a toy? A friend? Rudyard behaves and plays differently depending on who he is with.  With Sam, he enjoys the lick-lick-chomp game more because Sam puts up with it better. With me, he likes the kisses-and-cuddles game because he knows he gets treats out of it (sometimes).

With that in mind, maybe this is a new game, reserved only for Church?  I'm not sure. He doesn't like to play with Bowie, because Bowie is too rough. Church doesn't usually like to play with Rudyard, because the ferret plays too rough for her... it's all very interesting.

Naturally, Church does not enjoy the dragging part. I'm not sure if she enjoys any of it, really. But she puts up with Rudyard's affections very well. I always give her hugs and scratches after Rudyard has harassed her.

Belly Dancin' to Marco Polo

If ya haven't noticed, I gots me another blog on the side where I keep all of me belly dancing choreographies organized.

SO, today, as my first day of temporary freedom from Athens Tech,  I did what I've been waiting to do since before finals started: choreography to Loreena McKinnett's Marco Polo, which I'm pretty jazzed about. No wait. I'm belly-danced about (ah ha ha ha... oh, I crack myself up).

The song is for a summer class I'll be teaching to the teens of the library. I'm very excited. The last one went really really well, and this time it will be better because I will MUCH more organized.

Last summer, my choreography was very last minute. This time, it will not be. Mostly because it will be incorporating the use of a veil, and that is something I need time to figure out.

You see, if you know anything about me and my belly dancing, you know that I don't really use props. Here's why: they scare the shit out of me.

So I'm going to brave veils and also teach chilluns how to deal with them too. WOOT!

Got Me My Mandy's

Dean Yeagle's books are extraordinarily beautiful on top of being cute, dorky, and hokey. I can't get enough of Mandy!

Rocking That Blue, Baby

Yesterday I had the privileged of dying mys sister's hair blue. It was very fun and methinks I did a good job. :)
We took pictures and I posted them on facebook. I just like the pictures I took and put through Photoshop.

We had to bleach her hair first cos she is just so darn BROWN. That was fun. She looked like a movie star with her highlights. You know, a crazy crazy movie star that Disney probably hired.

Yeah. She's a pretty flyy girl, if I say so myself. Now she's a little punk. Woot woot.

The Pirate Duck is Missing

I cannot find Rudyard's Pirate Duck. I'm sure he's hidden it and he knows where it is at, but I don't know where it is at. When it comes time that Rudyard has a bath or we get out a big bowl of water for him to go snorkeling in, what will we put in the water?

Yes, ice cubes are amusing because they melt. But that is the limit of their fun.

And all of our ping pong balls have disappeared! Bowie fell in love with the ping pong balls when we moved in, and now he has played with them out of existence! I don't know where they are.

And in the end, the pirate duck is still missing. Oh Pirate Duck! What woe.

So, yesterday I went to the Dollar Tree. I love the Dollar Tree. Everything there is ONE DOLLAR. It's not like those other dollar stores, like Dollar GENERAL where everything is GENERALLY in dollar format.

So yesterday I went to the Dollar Tree.
I was on a quest, to get Rudyard some new toys. I had gotten the Pirate Duck from Walmart, which was next door, but I wanted some variety in case we found the Pirate Duck again (which we will, I am sure).

I got Rudyard:
  • a bathtime Momma whale (dark blue/purple) and two bathtime bebe whales (yellow and orange).
  • A new blankie! It is gray with a cleaning robot on the corner that reminds me of Rosie from the Jetsons.
  • and last, but not least, a blue stuffed bunny with long arms and legs. The hands have Velcro on them, so you can attach the bunny to things like the  top of the cage.
I tried to surprise Rudyard with it all but sneakily opening his cage and sneakily placing his new things inside. But he promptly woke up and asked me what I was doing.

When he saw the whales, he squeed.

I had placed them in his miniature water bowl on the bottom floor of his cage. The small water bowl is  for mini-snorkeling.

This video is old, from last year, and shows when we still had ping-pong balls. This is his large snorkeling bowl and for out-of-cage activity. This is what he does with things that are in the water:

Well, imagine little bathtime whales. He squeed so much; he placed the Momma out of the water first, decided she was too big to carry around, and immediately after dove in for the bebe whales. He put the yellow one outside of his small snorkeling bowl, then picked up the orange one and brought it upstairs to his bedchambers.

Yay! Happy times.

Later, when Sam and I got out the big snorkeling bowl (the one in the above video) we placed all bathtime whales in it.

Rudyard picked them up one at a time, and one at a time, carried each whale out of the kitchen, down the hallway, into my room, and plopped them in the closet. The family of whales stayed there overnight.

Success!

Feelin' Faint

Yesterday was a rough day.

I went in to model for a photographer's workshop; it was supposed to be a long one, 12 to 6. At three I started feeling faint and had to tell those in charge that I couldn't last the rest of the workshop.
It was embarrassing, and I felt even worse because I knew there was already all kinds of stress that had gone into getting this workshop together. I knew I was also a last-minute model added in. They thought I was good enough to be in the workshop. They only wanted very good, very experienced, and very professional models.

I don't know what it is. Is it my nerves? Maybe. Before, I was doing life-modeling and I actually did briefly faint from holding a certain pose for too long. All the blood drained from my brain--up or down, I'm not sure. So its possible I had an anxiety attack yesterday when in truth, I was just tired.

Which, of course, doesn't really help either. It makes me feel just a liiiiiittle worse.

When I got home, I fell asleep. I didn't sleep well though; I kept thinking my body was still in some sort of pose, and that I couldn't move, and all I wanted was to relax and go to sleep. I even woke up a couple times during my nap, upset and feeling claustrophobic.

After my nap, my day started to turn around. Sam is such a sweetie; he made me watch an otter video where, for Valentine's Day, trainers threw in a heart-shaped fish popsicle.

The blog it came from is http://cuteotters.com.

AND THEN, to furthermore the charm and sweetness of my boyfriend, he printed out a sheet of paper. It had two pictures on it:

I love Dean Yeagle. He is one of my favorite artists. This means that I have these two wonderful books on way by mail.

By the end of the day, I felt somewhat better. Still not up to par, and I don't feel completely up to par today, but much better than I felt when leaving the workshop.

I've been thinking of putting in a resignation, simply because I don't feel that it is fair to Fringe Collective that I keep fainting or feeling ill. Everyone there is very kind and supportive, but this has happened twice in a row. I would imagine that they would appreciate a model that knows how to stand up on her own two feet instead of continuously collapsing.

On another note, a have a new puppet name Humphrey. He is a pack rat and he has a pack on his back for packing. I'm quite delighted with Humphrey, and I finally have another plush rat for Theodore to hang out with.

(Sam helped me name him. He says that he got the name from Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, and that there is an annoying alien species that speaks in a high-pitched voice. The pack-rat looked like he would speak in such a high-pitched voice. One of them is named Humphrey. Therefor, Humphrey the Pack-Rat is born.)

He just looks so excited, next to grumpy old Theodore.  But maybe Theodore was just so grumpy because he had to hang out with otters and ferrets and weasels all day long.

This guy comes from Folkmanis Puppets. I also have one of their jellyfish (named Manis, actually), and their ferret puppet, who I called Pepopowitz from an episode of the TV show, Home Movies.
