Vincent and Liam's living quarters were well overdue for a thorough cleaning. While the little old tykes ran amuck (ammuck? a muck?), I set about cleaning up the bottom floor.
New shavings were put in. All fabric not terribly covered in poop and urine were simply fluffed and put back in. The boys really like the pink basket that I taped down to a plate, so that was most certainly not removed. However, a cardboard house was taken apart because it was beyond repair. Plus Liam and Vincent kept tearing it into pieces to create a nest. So, obviously there were better uses for it.
Macoroni! One of the fun things to do when you clean out the rat cage is litter it with yummy treats. Dry noodles are pretty tasty, at least to Vincent. I don't think Liam cares too terrible much for them. He is so picky.
Zuchinni, squash, cucumber, crackers, and yogurt raisins (the Sun Maid kind) are the special treat for today. This was split up amongst four ratties. When I was cleaning out the cage I found a lot of dried up squash from last time.
Vincent is being curious. What are you doing to all my poop?
Liam always hides under the dresser. I don't know why its his favorite spot; you think he wouldn't like the overwhelming ferret-predator smell in there.
Here is Vincent putting up with my shenanigans.
I tried to get a video of them finding their veggies, but I didn't have enough lighting. They are very cute when they find food. I have some interesting footage from past food munchings. Maybe I will do something with those...
