But wait, THERE'S MORE!

Rudyard has become a nurturing groomer.  He has taken it upon himself to adopt Sam and make him his little furrt baby. Sam's honorary ferret status has gone up! Now he is a ferret pup. Rudyard cleans Sam's short bristley hair as well as attempts to play with him the way ferrets play. Oh, love! How I love thee!

Not only that, but Jack is becoming much more amiable with me! I mean, he was already very sweet, but before he exits the cage for playtime he will groom my arm. Huzzah! I always knew deep down inside that my arm needed rigorous cleaning.

It is exciting times in the House of Ferret.

Furthermore, and completely unrelated, I am compiling some of my best illustrations to create a coloring book. I am hoping to sell these in local shops and use it to help promote and produce actual copies of Year of the Rat. I'm starting to give up on publishers.... which makes me sad. I really wanted to do it the old-fashioned-way.

Alas.

I woke up this morning an hour late. I was quite upset with myself because I hate rushing to work. I missed coffee and breakfast and got to the library five minutes or so before we opened. I hate getting to the library that late! I like to come in early and take my time turning on the computers and checking my email and starting my day. I am a turtle, I think. A turtle by choice. On top of those things, waking up late means the ferrets don't get out in the morning. And my rats missed their morning snack.

On another completely different sort of note, I found out that there is an individual who LOVES planning parties. So I am going to make her plan Rudyard and Jack's birthday party. Which is in November. In.... four months? Yup. Four months. It's Rhiannon's girl, Jessa, who colored me a Rainbow Rudyard. Coolest thing ever.
