Sam and I hiked 6.2 miles in the snow today.
That was 3.1 miles to Nat and Eli's house, and then 3.1 back.
It took us two hours to get there, and 1 hr 45 mins to walk back.
When we started our journey, Sam had a good slide in the snow on his butt.
These are the sorts of prints we saw in the snow:
dog
people
deer
squirrel
stick (of the walking variety)
Also, we saw a family of five deer cross the street. They were really close and gave us a look before they crossed.
Also, and this is way before the hike, Sam and I watched a squirrel dig in the snow for his nuts. The little guy's head popped in and out and in and out... he was being very wary of predators. In the end, he found his nuts! Huzzah!
Apparently, a squirrel will bury his nuts in all sorts of places and forget most of those spots. Why do they forget? I don't know. Probably in the same way when I play Pokemon Diamond and I bury some gems in the underground, I usually forget where I put those gems. Why would I forget? It would be beneficial for me to remember.... I could buy furniture for my base, or plushie dolls, or even traps. Oh the world we live in!

[These images were pulled off the interwebs. They are not mine. For shaaaame.]
Now, please enjoy my ferrets, who of course also partied in the snow:
These were the from the night before... the shudder speed was slow to take in everything, but I'm sure you can see how excited they are:
