Patron: What happened to your hand?
Me: Nothing. I just played too hard with my pets.
Patron: You get bit? You have dogs?
Me: No, I didn't get bit.
Patron: You have dogs?
Me: No, I don't have dogs.
Patron: What bit you?
Me: Nothing bit me.
Patron: What kind of pet you have?
Me: Ferrets.
Patron: What?
Me: Ferrets.
Patron: They this big? (*indicates with hands the size of a ferret*)
Me: Yes.
Patron: They bite?
Me: Well, yes, but they didn't bite me.
Patron: Okay. Well. Thanks for the computer ticket.
obviously s/he was expecting you to be more "chatty" ! S/He had to pull everything out of you.
